Head teacher Belle has been singing lead and backing vocals on Strictly Come Dancing, season 2018. Belle still works as a professional session and live vocalist.

Belle sang lead vocals for the opening titles of the Christmas episode, with Dame Darcey Bussell and the Strictly professional dancers performing.

Darcey has only recently signed all our students Royal Academy ballet exam certificates and was also partnered by Belles Brother in the Royal Ballet Company…. so Belle and Darcey had lots to chat about at Strictly! Keeeeep Dancing!!!!!

Congratulations to student Sylvie who has recently performed in Stories at The National Theatre and also A Christmas Carol at The Lyceum.

I am thrilled and honoured to welcome New teacher Sarah Golightly who will be teaching pre primary/primary and grade 1 classes from Spring term 2017.

After completing her P.G.C.E and achieving qualified teacher status Sarah taught in many schools across London. She continued her dance training at the Laban School of Contemporary Dance in 2000 and was awarded a Postgraduate Certificate in Community Dance Studies.

From there Sarah held the position of head of dance at Ibstock Place School and subsequently head of dance at Capital City Academy where she was also involved in the training of primary school teachers to deliver dance as part of the national curriculum.

In 2003 Sarah joined the department of learning at English National Ballet and in her role as dance officer continues to deliver workshops in a variety of community settings including nurseries, hospitals, care homes and schools. Sarah also teaches on the company’s adult ballet programme having qualified in 2006 as a registered teacher with the Royal Academy of Dance.

Lauren Varnham

Lauren has appeared in The Pajama Game, We Will Rock You, Carousel, Hairspray and High School Musical, all in the West End.

Lauren was trained at one of the very best dance colleges, Laine Theatre Arts and is highly experienced teaching children.

Suzannah Bremner

Suzannah was born in Manchester & moved to London in 2007 to pursue a career in dance after being accepted onto the BA Honors Degree in Theatre dance at the prestigious London Studio Centre.

Suzannah’s credits include: Fifth Harmony, Cheryl, Ella Henderson, Little Mix, Jermain Jackman, Street Dance 3 All Stars Movie, BBC’s So You Think You Can Dance, ITV’s X Factor, Britains Got Talent, The Voice.

Nancy Wei George

Nancy has over 12 years experience appearing in Musicals such as Mamma Mia, Singing in the Rain, Fame and Hair in the West End. Other theatre credits include Beauty and the Beast, Thoroughly modern Millie, South Pacific, Promises Promises and Nation at The National Theatre. Nancy has always loved working with children and has much experience teaching Dance, Drama and Singing to children of all ages. As well as being a busy Mummy to her 15 month old daughter, she owns and runs a franchise of children’s music and dance classes for under 4’s called LittleBubbles in South East London.

Nancy is very happy to be revisiting the talented children at The Dowson-Erskine School of dance this year for lots of Musical Theatre fun!

So now our school has a Grade 2 class, with brand new ballet barres coming soon to accommodate the grade 2 barre exercises.
